At Last 7 People Dead In Suburb, Milwaukee Apartment Fire

Not less than seven people had been dead in an early morning fire on Friday in a four-family condo constructed in a suburb of Milwaukee, the authorities mentioned.

It broke out at about 5:11 a.m. within the village of Hartland, Wisconsin, Chief Torin J. Misko of the Hartland Police Division mentioned at an information convention. Hartland has about 9,500 residents and is about 27 miles west of Milwaukee.

“That is an energetic felony investigation by the Hartland Police Division,” Chief Misko mentioned. It was not clear what induced the fire or the place it originated within the construction.

Firefighters and police who arrived on the scene encountered what Chief Misko described as “a considerable amount of fire,” and rescued individuals from the condo construction and balconies.

He didn’t know the ages of the victims or whether or not they lived in a selected unit. “This can be a tragic incident for the group and the primary responders concerned,’’ Chief Misko mentioned.

Fifteen fire departments and 9 police departments assisted on the scene. The State Fireplace Marshal’s workplace is investigating the fire with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Workplace, the Wisconsin Crime Laboratories and the Hartland Police and Fireplace Departments, Chief Misko mentioned.

The American Crimson Cross of Wisconsin mentioned it was serving three households that had been displaced by the fire.
